theyellowboat fine art and textiles

I created theyellowboat out of a desire to make well made household textiles out of natural materials. I want the items I make to last for a long time and to look good even when they are "worn in".

I make napkins, pencil cases, tea towels and several other types of home textiles. I print on 100% cotton and hemp blends and use water soluble inks. I have designed and sewn all of my work. My products can be machine washed and dried. I suggest washing inside out in cold water with a mild detergent. My prints are created using several different techniques. I usually use block printing techniques in my work but occasionally print images using a silk screen.

My work is quirky, light-hearted and colourful. A lot of it is inspired by my rural life in Nova Scotia. You can find theyellowboat products in the following shops:
